A dear friend of mine, Mark Hunnemann, recorded a series on “Challenging The Popular Theory Of Residual Energy Haunts”, which offers a thorough analysis of this belief, which is mostly unexamined, and a speculative theory in the paranormal community. This is the very first analysis I have ever seen of anyone even trying to debunk it. He did an excellent job proving it to be unscientific and unbiblical. For anyone that wants the truth regarding this subject, I HIGHLY recommend they watch his series of videos on this topic!!
