Children and the Occult
What is the occult?
If you were to ask a large group of people this question, you would get many different answers. One thing that may come to mind would be something like a scene from a movie, perhaps a couple of people in black attire, with hoodies on, standing inside a circle that is drawn on the floor, with a pentagram in the center of it, with candles lit, while they chant, and cast spells. This is what the media usually portrays as the occult or witchcraft.
But on the other hand, if you look at what the Bible says regarding the occult, you will find a much broader description.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 KJV
(10) There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, (11) or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. (12) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord and because of these abominations, the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
It is very hard to direct your children in the ways of the Lord in today’s society because occult practices has become acceptable, while it “appears” to be harmless, as it has become the “normal way of life”.
Witchcraft and the occult have become the norm, and a way of life. Today, children learn occult practices from a very early age, from the media, books, the influence of their friends, and sadly, even thier parents and other family members teach them.
Fairy Tales and Cartoons
Fairy tales and bedtime stories riddled with witchcraft and the occult has been a great influence on children as well. Here are some examples from many common fairy tales that you would find on any book shelf in daycares, schools, or even our homes. In the illustrations below, Please take notice of how the occult and witchcraft is a big part of the story.
(Please remember, the enemy comes along while they are young, appearing to be innocent and subtle)
– Snow White. Witch casts a spell on an apple eaten by Snow White. The spell is broken by a kiss from the prince. They live happily ever after.
– Cinderella. Witch casts a spell so Cindrella can go to the ball. The spell ends at midnight when Cinderella loses her dress and carriage. In the end all is well for Cinderalla.
– Wizard of Oz. Dorothy and her dog get transported to the land of Oz. A wizard is the leader and he is the man Dorothy and friends must see for help. Dorothy gets help from the “good” witch and battles the evil witches. The witches cast their spells in the story.
Do you see a trend in many of the old time fairy tales and stories? They have bad witches casting evil spells and so-called “good witches” casting good spells. Many, if not all, fairy tales have a happy ending where the good witch wins, so the child will be given a pleasant introduction to the world of the occult and witchcraft.
Occultic Games Children Play
I remember when I was a kid, playing with a “magic 8 ball”, asking questions, such as, “Will I get married when I’m older?”, or “Will I get a new pet this year?” It seems very innocent and harmless, and you may be asking yourself, well.. what’s the harm in that?
The problem with these games, is that although they appear to be harmless and entertaining, they are forms of divination and witchcraft. What is even more disturbing about them, is the very fact that they are designed to have more appeal to them due to thier innocent appearance. More people would be drawn to them., simply because they “think” they are okay, and in fact they are entertaining.
Games such as the “Magic 8 ball”, or remember those little “paper fortune tellers” we used to make while at school, and asking questions, anticipating the best answers… who would have known that it was a form of divination? These things may not appear to be associated with the occult, but in reality, they are no more innocent than using a deck of tarot cards. With the heavy influence and acceptance of the occult in society today, it is no surprise that games such as “Ouija” and “Children’s tarot cards” are not only accepted by society, but they are “hot selling items”, sold in most local toy stores.
Voodoo Dolls
I have even come across “Voodoo dolls”, made for children. It is interesting to know that Voodoo” means “spirit of God.” Believers of voodoo believe in one ever-present God, and they speak with the spirits, called the “Loa”. They believe that the Loa are our dead ancestors and the messengers of their God. They believe that the Loa influence the daily affairs of the living, especially when it comes to love, money, family, happiness, justice or revenge. Voodoo dolls are vital tools used in rituals by those in the voodoo religion. This religion is a false religion, which actually uses witchcraft, and the powers of darkness.
This religion is evil and unbiblical and in no way does it have a place in the life of a Christian, or in a child’s toy box for that matter.
Necromancy
With the explosion of the high interest in “ghosts” in society today, it is no surprise that children are becoming involved in ghost hunting and “paranormal research”. This practice involves necromancy, divination, and consulting with familiar spirits. All of which, are forbidden in scripture.
The Indoctrination of our children to such practices from such an early age is very alarming to a Christian parents that knows scripture, but this tactic is not new by any means. There is nothing new under the sun. God acknowledged that children were practicing magic and witchcraft in Isaiah 47:12, and He did not approve of it. It is alive and well around the world and in our nation today, just as it was when the book of Isaiah was written.
Isaiah 47:12 KJV
[12] Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
What’s the harm?
Demonic spirits have one goal. And that goal is to destroy us. (To steal, kill, and destroy)
Sin has inescapable consequences of ruining us. And when we continue to do wrong, (Sin) we become more prone to demons.
But do demons have a right to attack children?
As parents, we are responsible to raise our children in the admonition of the Lord, and to teach them in the ways they ought to go. When we fail to do this, our children pay the price. The lifestyle a child is exposed to will become the norm for that child. Whatever is the “usual”, will become the norm to a child. If a child is exposed to witchcraft and occult practices, the child will not see anything wrong with it, unless they are corrected and taught that it is indeed wrong, and therefore it is harmful.
The fact is, children can even become demon possessed. Although this is tragic and sad, it is a reality, and it is biblical.
Mark 9:17-26 KJVS
[17] And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; [18] And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. [19] He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. [20] And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. [21] And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. [22] And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. [23] Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. [24] And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. [25] When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. [26] And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him:
Although children don’t always become demon possessed, demons are masters at gradualism; if it takes 20 years or even 50 years to ruin a person, this is not a problem. They have nothing else to do, and this is their goal.
How can we protect our children?
The first step would be to make up our mind to believe on Jesus Christ and to make Him LORD of our lives.
We as parents, are charged with teaching our children to guard their hearts and minds from deception, and the destructive forces of evil that often masquerade as harmless, or even good. As Christians, we have to do all we can and in the power of the Holy Spirit to make sure the enemy of our souls does not gain any ground in our children.
Isaiah 54:13-14 KJVS
[13] And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord ; and great shall be the peace of thy children. [14] In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
2 Timothy 3:14-15 KJVS
[14] But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them ; [15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

This subject is extremely important. Like you I am shocked at how many national or international bookstores sell occult literature for children, well before the Harry Potter series. I noticed voodoo kits, spell kits, love spell kits, ouija boards and tarot.
The worst of all are the parents who teach their children evil magic and there are so many doing this, it is part of their daily routine. Not only evil magic but evil behaviour. They are damning themselves and their children. It is scary. Where I currently live it is common practice for girls to learn evil witchcraft from an early age and it is accepted.
The media is conditioning them” it is fun” to do these thing. It is not fun if you are on the receiving end of it all. Even spells done “in fun” can have tragic results for the victim.
Like you, I do a lot of removals for people whose lives have been ruined by others malicious intent.
I write many things about how subtle evil is too and your right evil demons do not care how long it takes to destroy someone it is their mission.
Blessings to you and thanks for this post.
