Yoga: The Untold Spiritual Truths

Yoga Untold Spiritual Truths

By Nancie Smith Gordon

There are Yoga untold spiritual truths. Yoga is a spiritual discipline more than a physical discipline.

What is Yoga
Yoga is a generic term for a physical, mental and spiritual discipline originating in ancient India and found in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism.

It has a literal meaning of ‘Yoke’ from a root ‘yuj’ meaning ‘to join’, ‘to unite’ or ‘to attach’.
In Hindu, the word refers to one of the six doctrine schools of Hindu philosophy. Thus yoga is a spiritual discipline more than a physical discipline.

Origin of Yoga
Although Yoga is said to be as old as civilization, there is no physical evidence to support this claim.

No one knows exactly the source of Yoga and everyone will tell you that it dated back way before 5,000 years but with no evidence.

The earliest archaeological evidence of Yoga’s existence comes from stone seals which depict figures of Yoga Poses. They say that stone seals place Yoga’s existence around 3000 B.C.

Purpose of Yoga
Yoga is the method of yoking or unifying the ‘lower’ (egoistic) personality to the ‘higher’ via a pr.

Through this they claim it brings the body, soul and spirit in unison.

Is Yoga just an Exercise?
Many people today are taking yoga techniques for physical exercise and most of them do not know what yoga is.
They believe that there is nothing wrong with implementing this form of exercise into their daily regiment for a healthy body.

However, the practice of yoga is much more than a system of physical exercise for health. No one can deny that it involves physical, mental and spiritual discipline but many people are fallacious claiming that it has no spiritual incline.

Yoga is an ancient path to spiritual growth and originates out of India where Hinduism is practiced.

The techniques of Yoga are practiced by the Indus to initiate spiritual growth.
The yogis encourage union with the finite ‘jiva’ (transitory self) and with the infinite ‘Brahman’ (eternal self). Brahman is a term used by the Hindus to mean ‘God.’
Yogis usually think of God as an impersonal, spiritual substance, coexisting with all of reality.

Yoga techniques for exercising cannot be separated from its philosophy. It is a practice of psychosomatic exercises.

The yoga scholar will tell you that in order to practice yoga in the fullest, one must experience what is called the ‘kundalini’ effect within meditation. What does this mean?

For spiritual lessons to be grasped by the soul within the person, the chakra or different locations within the body where a circle of metaphysical and/or biophysical energy resides join together in the process.

‘Kundilini’ stimulates the chakra center to open and release the energy held within. *kundalini spirit is demonic and is a false Holy Spirit. See my other posts on this subject.

Spiritual meaning of Yoga positions
Many yoga postures are named after things found in nature. Animal-named poses range from cobra, eagle to cat, including animals of several different families.
Let us look at some Yoga positions spiritually.

  1. Sun salutation
The Sun Salutation is often one of the first series of poses done directly after seated breathing exercises during morning yoga sessions.
The Salutation is meant to greet the sun and is used as a way to worship the Hindu sun god, Surya, who us the symbol of health and immortal life.
The 12 distinct poses of the Sun Salutation each have their own mantra and the series is meant to celebrate the sun and the sun-god.
  2. Downward Facing Dog Pose
This sound funny at first but after you’ve watched a dog wake up and go into a deep stretch, the name of the pose takes on a new meaning.
The spiritual implication behind the pose lies in the act of a combined stretch with a moment in which the yogi turns inward simultaneously connecting to your center while stretching your body into a long line has a unifying effect positioning your spirit within while you stay connected to the outside world.
  3. Tree Pose
The essence of Tree Pose is to find balance. However, balance is not found in this pose in a rigid manner such as one might associate with a balanced ballet position.
In Tree Pose, your body may sway like a tree does in the wind but your foot stays rooted into the ground. This gives the body freedom to move and find its balance while you envision being rooted in the ground developing your spiritual acceptance of your body’s position in space as claimed.
  4. The lotus position
Lotus position is an exercise used in opening yourself up for the spirit to come in.
It is usually depicting a sexual act especially the way you sit crossing your legs with all your fingers touching the thumb. There comes something in the spiritual realm that is known as the diamond which is like a penis and it comes and enters you.

The lotus position forms a spiritual penis and it enters you and performs sexual acts with you. You cannot refuse it so it just comes and enters you.

  1. Headstand Poses
Headstand poses are among the most difficult for yogis to achieve but they are also some of the most spiritually impacting poses.

Kundalini uses head stand poses to awake and uncoiled the serpent (Satan or snake) energy in the base of the spine bringing it to the crown of the head.

In a head stand pose, they claim, one can achieve an even mind, partial enlightenment and even fearlessness.

  1. Animal Poses
There are a variety of animal poses in yoga named after the animals that they resemble.
For instance, a cat pose is done with an arched back while the cobra pose looks like a snake rearing its head.
The spiritual purpose of each animal pose is to allow you take or posses the attributes of that animal.

For instance, the eagle pose is claimed to bring you a clear mind’s eye and a lion’s pose can help you feel brave and in control.

  1. Strength Poses
Certain poses are claimed to put you in a power stance and help you develop a greater appreciation for the natural world while helping you feel like a stronger individual.
The popular warriors pose is said to help you feel spiritually powerful while the tree pose is meant to make you feel calm, balanced and in control.
Seated poses, like the lotus poses, are meant to help you turn inward during guided and self meditation for a deeper state of enlightenment.

Yoga is spiritual and worship of other gods

  1. Yoga is spiritual and worship of other gods; it is idolatry.
  2. The doctrine of yoga is called pantheism which is the view that everything is God and man is God.
  3. Yoga teaches us to focus on ourselves instead of focusing on the one true God.
  4. It encourages us to seek the answers to life difficult questions within our own conscience instead of in the Bible.
  5. It also leaves one open to deception from Satan who searches for victims who he can turn away from God.

Yoga is more of a spiritual discipline than a physical discipline and these are the Yoga Untold Spiritual Truths.

Do not be deceived.
God bless

The Origin of Reiki Healings

Testimony, by Kevin Riordan

A few years ago I was ministering healing at a meeting. A woman approached me and told me that she had heard about my healing ministry, and had been wanting to meet me. She told me that she was a “healer” as well. As it turns out, she was a Reiki master.

My heart sank when I heard this. One of the hardest things to do is to tell someone that they are operating in demonic power. Most are completely unaware of this. The person doing the Reiki has no idea of the source of their power and personal bondage, nor are they aware of the bondage they put those in, whom they work on. My conscience will not let me not say anything.

How we present this information to them is the deciding factor in whether or not a person will hear what we have to say or not, and could possibly hinder their freedom.

I looked her in the eyes and told her “ you’re a really good person, with a beautiful heart for people. I know that you got into Reiki out of a desire to help hurting people”. She agreed. I told her, “I don’t want to offend you or hurt your feelings, but I have to tell you the truth. The power that heals through you, and the power that heals through me is not the same power. In fact the two powers oppose each other.”

Again I reiterated that I didn’t want to offend her but I had to tell her the truth. I really wanted her to see God’s heart in what I was saying. I told her “the power that you are operating in is actually demonic power.”

She was shocked. She said that it was God that was working through her. I asked the question “what if I’m right and if it were a demon working through you, would you still want it in you?” “Well no” she replied. I told her that I would lead her in a prayer to renounce it. If it is really of God then nothing will happen, but if not she’d know it pretty quick.

I lead her in renouncing the spirit of new age, and the healing force she received, as well as Reiki spirits. She found out pretty quick that it was a demon. As soon as the words came out of her mouth, she began to shake. She collapsed on the floor. When I commanded them to come out, she began to shake violently. They began to come out through coughs. When she was free, I shared the gospel with her and she made Jesus her savior.

If you are involved in Reiki, stop now! It is demonic and will put you into bondage! I don’t care if they talk about angels or “god”, or reference “the light”, If a person is not praying strictly in the name of Jesus, you do not want them praying for you!

I’ve seen many times how a person has Reiki done on them to alleviate pain or sickness. The pain or sickness disappears, but then you develop other symptoms. You go again for more Reiki. Next thing you know you are dealing with heaviness, depression, nightmares, suicidal thoughts etc.

You never stop to think that the new symptoms you’re feeling, or the oppression you’re dealing with is from the Reiki you’ve been involved in. People who submit to Reiki are ignorant to the fact that through the laying on of hands, a demonic spirit was imparted to them that is bent on killing stealing and destroying them.

You are lead further down the new age rabbit hole in search of healing or comfort, but finding more bondage.

If you have had Reiki done on you pray this prayer.

**Lord, in ignorance I participated in Reiki. Lord I repent of participating in this occultic practice. In Jesus name, I now turn from this.

In the name of Jesus, I renounce the spirit of new age, Reiki, depression, heaviness, suicide, affliction, infirmity, pain and any other demonic spirit that was imparted to me through the laying on of hands.

In Jesus name, I now break your hold and cancel your assignment against me. In the mighty name of Jesus I now command the spirit of new age, Reiki, depression, heaviness, suicide, affliction, infirmity, pain and any other demonic spirit that was imparted to me through the laying on of hands to come out of me now! In Jesus name, you must go!

You may start coughing, breathing heavy, burping, yawning. I believe that God will set you free!

The terrible process of unforgiveness, and how healing begins.

Forgiveness is not forgetting and moving on. Making the choice to forget about something done to you does not cancel out it’s affects on you. If anything undealt with wounds will become infected and begin the process of killing you from the inside out.

1. The offense occurs. Instead of dealing with it by choosing forgiveness, we accept it and analyze it.

2. We begin talking about it to others. By talking about it, we nurse the offense causing it to grow. At this point, infection has begun to set in.

3. The enemy’s voice increases, and Gods voice decreases.

4. Deception takes hold. We begin to experience depression, anxiety, anger, physical pain. Yet deception blinds us to the root of our issues.

5. We begin to believe lies about God. “God doesn’t love me” “God doesn’t care” “God doesn’t want to help me”. We May become angry with God. We begin to function out of an orphan spirit. “I guess I have to help myself”. We begin to engage in sinful activities as a way to numb our mind. This only opens us to more demonic oppression, compounding our problems.

6. Undealt with wounds become demonic filters through which we view life. Undealt with wounds and unforgiveness begin to breed more wounds and unforgiveness that work destroy your other relationships.

7. We construct walls. These walls are the enemies of vulnerability and connection. Where there is no vulnerability, love dies, and relationships deteriorate. That if they ever really materialized at all.

8. When unforgiveness fully matures, you become closed to the in flow of Gods love, causing there to be no out flow. With nothing flowing in and nothing flowing out, your soul becomes a swamp, rotten and festering. This swamp is the habitat for the demonic to thrive

and bitter roots to grow. These bitter roots produce rejection, anger, resentment, bitterness, pride, religiosity, deep deception. Infirmity, pain and affliction.

9. Left undealt with, these wounds will ultimately destroy your body and your soul.

The process to heal…

1. Recognize that the only one being destroyed by your anger and unforgiveness is you. The reality is that you have been deceived into believing that your anger and unforgiveness is affecting them. The reality is that everything that you want them to feel is actually coming back on yourself.

2. Go to God with your pain. Tell God how you feel. Forgiving does not mean you have to deny your anger or the pain in your heart. It also does not mean that what they did was okay. “God, I am hurting so bad, and I feel hatred for him/her for what was done to me”.

3. Make the CHOICE to forgive them for what they did. Keep in mind, when you’re raw with anger and pain, you will never feel like forgiving. Obedience to God is always a decision. Most times our flesh does not want to obey God in anything, especially when we’re wounded. “Lord despite everything I’m feeling towards he/she, I am making a choice to forgive —— for ——. God I choose to release them.

4. Ask God to heal your heart. When you choose to forgive, you open yourself to the free flow of Gods love. But this also gives you the ability to release love. This steady flow of love works as an antiseptic killing any infection, washing out the wound so healing can come.

5. Forgiveness and the healing it brings, many times is not an overnight process. Just like a physical wound doesn’t heal overnight, the same goes for your heart. When a physical wound occurs, it is important to continue to clean the wound out and reapply the needed medicine. Like a physical wound, you must continue to tend to your heart by reapplying forgiveness. When the temptation to rage begins to rise, shut it down through forgiveness.

Lord, give those who hurt, the grace to forgive and continue to forgive. Jesus, would you touch their hearts. Would you give them your heart for those that have hurt them. Jesus, I pray for grace and peace to be released right now, in the name of Jesus!!

Finding Jesus While On The Wrong Path

Finding Jesus While On The Wrong Path, Testimony of Ex-paranormal Investigator, Dana Emanuel

It is no secret that society is making a case that the supernatural really exists, and that there is a fine line between normal, and the paranormal. There is something intriguing to a vast majority in our society about exploring “spirituality”, and gathering real evidence that the spirit world truly exists. However, the paranormal can be frustratingly elusive. For some that have had personal experiences of the unknown, it only sparked the beginning of a life long journey on an adventurous path of seeking the truth. Naturally, we all have an understanding that one day we will die. As we watch people we know and love, die through the years, it becomes more and more apparent that one day we too will face our own death. We all long for some kind of comforting assurance that as we take our last earthly breath here on earth, that we will wake up to our eternal existence beyond the grave. But, we all can’t help but wonder, is their really life after death? This remains to be the most common question of all time, by all of humanity.

There are two paths that can be taken to learn the truth regarding life after death, and the spiritual world. We can learn it by seeking God’s word on this subject, or we can venture out on our own to learn, through science and personal experiences. If we take the path which depends on our own logic and understanding, it can lead not only to the truth that the paranormal “really exists”, but that we can suddenly find ourselves in a spiritual war zone, resulting in devastating results.

My Testimony

As far back as I can remember, Ive always been interested in the paranormal (things such as ghost stories, scary movies, ufos, etc.) As for my religious beliefs, I have always believed in God, and the fact that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, and that He died on the cross for us and rose again the third day. I’ve went to church all my life, with the exceptions of only a few brief periods. I was always a Jesus “believer” but as you will see, my involvement in the occult shows I was not actually a Jesus “follower”. If I had really turned my life over to Jesus, my choices and actions would have reflected His Lordship. I never really read or studied the Bible. I wasn’t dedicated in attending church on a regular basis either. If it weren’t for my dear father calling me every Sunday morning, asking, “Hey, you going to church today”?, I probably wouldn’t have went to church as often as I did. My lifestyle did not truly reflect one of a “born again” Christian.

When I was approx. 29 years old, me and my family moved in with my grandmother. She was a widow, as my grandfather had passed away approx. 15 years prior. She was in the advanced stages of Alzheimers. I went to nursing school and I had worked previously in the medical field, so I volunteered to move in and be her full time caregiver. Soon after my family and I moved in, I personally witnessed such the sounds of footsteps up and down the hallway (outside my grandmothers bedroom) and her music box would start playing on its own.

This paranormal activity in her home fueled my interest in the paranormal even more. After we had several incidents of paranormal activity, I had an experience that would truly convince me that the paranormal/supernatural was indeed real, and that there really is a spirit world.

Like many nights before, I was awoken by noises in the house. Except this time, it was coming from the kitchen area. (in my grandmothers home) My husband and I slept in the old family room, which connected to the kitchen by 2 large sliding glass doors. We left those sliding glass doors open at night, so we could keep cool with the air conditioner. After I was woke up by the noises, I kept my eyes closed, and I continued to hear the noises. I laid there and wanted so badly to open my eyes to look across the room and into the kitchen to see what was making the noises. But I was afraid. Whenever this would happen, I would get a very eerie feeling. It was a feeling that is hard to explain. Although I couldn’t “see anything”, I could literally “feel” a dark presence there around me. And if you looked around, It was when the dark was darker than the dark.

So, as the noises continued, I finally got up the courage to open my eyes to see what it was. As I was opening my eyes I could hear a noise, and as my eyes came into focus, I could literally see (and hear) one of the kitchen chairs move away from the table as it slid across the floor! I was terrified, and in panic, I got out of bed and ran out the side door and went outside. My husband heard me yell as I jumped up and ran out the door, and he followed me to find out what happened. Even though I was always attracted to the paranormal, this incident still frightened me. My husband then calmed me down as he was reassuring me that this “spirit” that was haunting my grandmothers house was most likely my grandfather, which had passed alway several years before this. We finally just came to the conclusion that it must be him, and that he was just simply watching over my dear grandma. Because after all, the spirit didn’t try to attack any of us, or harm us, so this just reinforced our belief that it was probably my grandfather.

After this incident, I found myself beginning to really question the afterlife more than ever before. Because after all, if this was indeed my grandfather, why was he not in heaven? Why would he still be here, on earth lingering around my grandmothers house, and not in heaven?

It was already rumored within the family that my grandmothers house was haunted by my deceased grandfather, as a few of them had lived with her and had experiences of their own while living there. They all believed he was simply “looking after my grandmother”.

After the incident, I started researching the subject. I went to bookstores, and the local public library, reading everything I could find related to the paranormal, ghost hunting, and earthbound spirits.

Interestingly, I sought the truth in every book I could find, but neglected to seek the truth in God’s Word

As my curiosity grew, I started going to the local graveyards to “hunt ghosts”, using cameras and voice recorders. I remember the very first night we went to a local graveyard, we actually got a very compelling photo of what “appeared” to be a full bodied apparition of an earthbound spirit. (It was actually a demonic spirit, masquerading as an earthbound spirit)

I was also using a small audio recorder, attempting to capture “EVPS” (Electronic voice phenomenon) I started asking questions. One of the questions I asked was, “ what is your name”? After we finished the investigation that night, we went home, and I started analyzing the recordings to see if we captured any EVPS. Soon after I started playing the recording, I heard a very clear response when I asked the question, “what is your name”? And very clearly, I heard a male voice, say, “Frank”! We were all stunned, and so “fascinated” by this. I remembered the exact spot where I had started asking questions with my recorder, so the very next day, I went back to the graveyard, and went to that exact spot, and looked at the grave. To my amazement, the first name on the grave headstone was indeed “Frank”! I “thought” that the evidence I collected indeed “proved” that this voice was indeed the earthbound spirit of the man buried in that grave.

The more “evidence” I collected from other investigations, the more I become obsessed with the paranormal. And I admit, I loved the “thrill of the hunt”. I watched all the paranormal realities shows, and movies related to the paranormal.

Once I got my first computer it opened up a whole new world to me. I was then able to interact with many other people in the paranormal field that had the same interest and “passion” as me. I joined several paranormal community websites. I started reaching out to others in the paranormal field, learning all I could, and later joined a team of investigators. During these years I gathered a large collection of research equipment and tools. After a few years, I decided to start my own paranormal research team. We would investigate people’s homes that claimed to have paranormal activity, hoping to provide answers for the families, concerning what “kind” of spirits were in their homes, or if there were any at all.

Hauntings were categorized by “earthbound human spirits”, poltergeist hauntings, residual haunts, or demonic haunts, as we mistakenly thought hauntings could be classified into such categories.

Other than private cases, we would go to public places that were rumored to be “haunted”. (Such as old jails, motels, clubs, graveyards, buisness locations, etc.)

Dana during a paranormal investigation at Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Motel .

Although I was a “Christian” during this time, I lived my life without any regard for what the Bible said about the afterlife, and most importantly, Gods stern warnings against practicing divination, necromancy, or consulting familiar spirits, etc. (See Deuteronomy 18) I truly didn’t see any harm in what I was doing. (At least not yet…)

During this time, I had a few people approach me, and tell me that according to the Bible, ghosts do not remain “earthbound” or trapped here on earth when we die, and that the spirits I was communicating with were in fact demonic spirits, masquerading as such.

One day I was at work, and while I was on lunch break sitting with my brother Billy, I started showing him pictures of apparitions I had captured during an investigation, and he looked at me and said, ” you do know that these things are not really ghosts, they are demons, right??” He told me that according to the Bible, ghosts do not remain earthbound when we die, and that we go to either heaven or hell immediately. And he told me that demons masquerade as earthbound spirits.

In the paranormal feild, I did hear about something called “mimicking”, but I had learned that demons do sometimes do this, but I had also learned that earthbound ghosts were really here too. So I listened to what he told me, but sort of “dismissed it” at the time, as I knew that my brother was never into the paranormal like I was, and that perhaps my “experiences” superseded his “knowledge of the scriptures”.

I also had my other brother, Donnie warm me by telling me scriptures out of the bible, where it forbids the practice of necromancy, divination, and consulting mediums and familiar spirits. But at that time, I had been on my paranormal explorations so long that since I did not see any harm (at the time) in what I was doing, I did not heed his warnings, as I truly enjoyed the paranormal field, and I truthfully, I did not want the truth. Not only did I enjoy paranormal research, but I loved the paranormal community. (I Still do 😊) They were like my second family.

Kraig, Krystal, Dana, and Joe, with Ghost Search Investigations. In Virginia, the morning after conducting a private residential investigation.

Dead Time Paranormal, F.A.N.G., Pride Paranormal, and Florida Ghost Chasers, at a paranormal group meetup.

I rejected the truth, and I would try to justify what I was doing by convincing myself that I was doing my research to “help others”. The truth was, I was also doing it because I was obsessed with the paranormal and did not want to give it up. In reality, it does not help people when you go into their homes and open them and their homes up (like a spiritual portal to the demonic) when you engage with these spirits and provoke them into materializing and manifestation. (for “evidence” collection purposes)

A few of my family members were praying for me to see the dangers involved in the paranormal, and to see these spirits for what they really were, and for me to stop my paranormal exploration.

During my research, I learned that there was something indeed called “mimicking”. This was something that most, if not all, paranormal research teams know about, and many agree that it takes place “at times”. But they also believe that some hauntings are by earthbound spirits of our departed loved ones. After several investigations, I began to suspect that possibly ALL of these hauntings were in fact demons, masquerading as the departed spirits of our departed loved ones. In the cases we had, it always seems to be at least one “negative” spirit involved. Even when there was a spirit of what appeared to be a child, there would always be another spirit there that was negative. It was what I call “good spirit-bad spirit” scenarios. For instance, there were cases where a “good spirit” was being held against their will by a “bad spirit”, and was not able to move on into the light, or “cross over”. And there were cases where a good spirit was hanging around to protect those in the home from a “bad spirit”. I had personally witnessed a spirit of what claimed to be a sweet innocent “little girl”, throw a man into a wall with great force. It was cases like this that revealed to me the true nature and identity of what these “ghostly entities” truly were. I have also found that no matter what the entity claims to be, that if you tell it to leave in the name of Jesus, it always flees! I also noticed that when I started questioning this, things would happen.

instead of the usual paranormal occurrences that we were used to experiencing, There were a few things that happened… things that other people would not necessarily see as a “sign” from God, but It became clear to me that God was trying to show me that the true identity behind these spirits were indeed demonic spirits. And it seemed to become more and more obvious that this was the case. And as I began to talk to others about it, things would also happen. I didn’t know it at the time, but these demonic spirits would try to “interfere” everytime I would try to talk to others about it. I remember one night I was a guest on a paranormal radio talk show We were to discuss an upcoming paracon convention where I was scheduled to speak at. At this point, my home was under severe demonic attack, and I was really questioning the true identity of these spirits. When I was talking to the host, I began to share with her my discoveries and why I believed it. But as we talked, we had several disruptions. And then our connection on the phone seemed to be broken several times. So I went out on my back porch where the connection seemed to be better, and as we began to talk again, my dogs began to bark. I checked on them and everything seemed to be fine. We started to talk again and I felt a strong feeling of a dark presence there. Then as we were talking, my dogs grew more and more agitated.. to the point where they were growling and even barking in a howling manner. And oddly enough, they weren’t looking toward the fence or anything.. they were looking toward me. It was so freakish. And even began to feel nauseous. Eventually the show was cut short as all the interruptions become to be too much to continue.

During my years of paranormal research, I always used protection prayers before and after my investigations. We believed that this would protect us from any “spirit attachments” or from any “hitchhikers”. (Spirits following us home)

I remember one weekend, I went to St. Augustine, Florida with my daughter, as we went to the “haunted town” for the weekend. A town that is well known for its many haunted locations. It was only my daughter and I that went, as it was more like a “weekend get-away” for us. One of the nights that we were there, we arranged to take a late tour of the old jail. While we were on the tour, we separated ourselves from the others, and we started conducting an EVP session. And during the session, I was asking questions, and I asked the spirits to “show me a sign” that they were there, and to do something to prove to me that they do indeed exist. After a few minutes, to my surprise, my husband called me on my cellphone. He was at home, as he did not come on the trip with us. He was not into the paranormal like I was. When I answered the phone, He was upset, and he told me, “Dana, I don’t know where you are right now, or what you are doing, but please STOP.. because you have got stuff stirred up here at our house”!! I asked him what happened, and he told me that he was sitting in the living room at home, and there was a basketball sitting in front of him on the floor, and suddenly, the ball started rolling across the floor, went through the dining room, and into the kitchen, and through the hallway, and around into the other door coming back into the living room, and then it stopped right in the same spot it was in before it moved. Right away I realized that a few minutes before this happened, I was asking the spirits to show me some kind of sign that they are there and that they do exist. And to my surprise, after I reviewed the evp recordings, there was a voice that said the word “home”.

This incident was a real eye opener, as it showed me that when we are at different locations doing these investigations, these demonic spirits have a legal right to us and our homes. We are opening ourselves up to the demonic when we are communicating with them etc. Even when we think we are protecting ourselves with prayers. We cannot willfully sin and expect God to just protect us from the consequences of that sin. For us to pray for protection while engaging in a willful sinful, is to tempt God.

Unyielded sin causes us to lose ground with God in prayer, because unyielded sin is actually siding with the devil.

For example, when Satan tempted Jesus and told him to jump from the pinnacle of the temple, and he told him that he should not worry because God will send his angels to protect him.. Jesus rebuked him by reciting scripture and saying thou shall not tempt the Lord your God…

For us to participate in occult practices, while assuming that God will protect us, is to “tempt God”.

Matthew 4:5-10 KJV

[5] Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, [6] And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. [7] Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. [8] Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; [9] And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. [10] Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

I also started to realize that these demonic spirits affect us in other ways as well, not always by paranormal occurrences; but also by wrecking havoc in our personal lives. Things such as marital problems, health issues, drug/alcohol addictions, obsessive disorders, anger issues, bitterness, unforgiveness, etc.

Not only in my own life, but also my paranormal friends, and even my clients. I had become so used to a “dysfunctional” lifestyle by this time, it was a fact that was easily missed. I just thought that everyone in my inner circle was just normal like me. They had the same type of dysfunctions and “struggles”as I did.

I used to have “blogstar” shows. Blogstar was a podcaster website that we utilized, to have interactive live videos on a platform that allowed several people at one time, to discuss a particular subject. It was similar to the format used for live YouTube videos. We would have discussions with others in the paranormal field, and we would discuss different cases, and we would share our “evidence” with each other and we would also discuss the newest research equipment, and techniques used to gather such evidence. (Evidence such as: photos of ghostly apparitions, orbs, EVPs, and video footages of paranormal activity.)

It was during these discussions with other paranormal enthusiasts, where I began to learn how often “spirit mimicking” was happening. I heard countless stories of “little girl ghosts” that ended up being exposed as evil demonic spirits . There were so many of these stories that I began to question to myself, ” if these demonic spirits mimic human spirits “some of the time”, how do we know they aren’t mimicking our departed loved ones, ALL of the time”??

When I was starting to “question” if these spirits were in fact, ALL demonic spirits, I would mention it to my friends and others in the paranormal community, and I would point out the fact that these “spirits” always seemed to leave when commanded to, “in the name of Jesus”. I noticed that many of the other investigators would strongly deny this possibility, and I would get a lot of backlash from them whenever I suggested it. I found that this theory was not a popular one within the paranormal community.

Many of my paranormal friends seemed to always be open to all other “theories” regarding the paranormal and the spiritual world, EXCEPT the possibly that all “ghostly spirits” were in fact demons, mimicking the dead. (Familiar Spirits)

Some of the theories believed by the paranormal community is; Residual Haunts, Poltergeist Haunts, Demonic Haunts, Ghostly Haunts, Bigfoot, Alien visitations, Angelic visitations, etc.

So I became a bit hesitant when bringing up this theory to others because I did not want to offend or anger them.

Since it seemed that the Christian “church” didn’t accept or understand paranormal exploration, (Paranormal research) it was nearly impossible to find a minister to really help when we had cases that appeared to be demonic or negative. This always left us with the option to turn to others in the field… those that identified themselves as mediums, demonologists, shaman, exorcists, etc.

Although I was in the paranormal field, I had my Christian beliefs and during this time I always had a conflict within my spirit regarding these other faiths and practice.

During the time where I really started to question this possibility, was when I had a case that involved a client (young man) that was suffering physical attacks. He was having instances where he would suddenly be thrown into the wall by an invisible force. Once when it happened, it injured his back. He went to the ER, with back pain. When he told the doctor what happened, the doctor sent him to “Circles of Care” (a mental health hospital) for evaluation and observation. While he was there, he told one of the nurses what happened, and she believed him. It just so happend, that she too too was “ into the paranormal”. She had a “business card” of another paranormal investigation team, which was friends of ours. This friend of ours wasn’t able to take the case, as she already had several other cases, so she called a man we knew, that founded another team. We were at another investigation with his team, when he got the phone call. A few of the members left that night, and went to talk to the other people that lived in the house where the young man was getting attacks, to do a preliminary investigation. While they were there, they put a few voice recorders around the house, and they interviewed the family. While they interviewed them, a young lady started “talking to the spirit of what she believed to be a young female child that alleged to be the victim of abuse by her father. Once she started doing this, she went into a bedroom closet and started “manifesting” as if the girl was channeling through her.

“The practice of channeling — a person’s body being taken over by a spirit for the purpose of communication”

She was acting as if she was being abused by her father and she sobbed and was asking for help. After hearing about the young man being thrown with supernatural strength, by what we questioned to be an evil spirit or demon, this incident with the “spirit of a little girl” confused us. This is when I was suspecting that it could possibly be a demon, posing as a little girl, just so it could gain our trust and sympathy, and deceive us. After reviewing the audio recordings that were collected at the house, we heard several voices, saying things like, “ Get out, get out now, all of you!!!!” So, we all felt like it was “possibly” an evil spirit of a man (perhaps the abusive father of the little girl) or even worse, a demonic spirit. We scheduled the full investigation for the following week, because by that time, the young man would be released from the mental hospital.

The day of the investigation came, and one of the team members went to their church (Catholic Church) and talked to someone there, and they got some holy water. When we arrived at the home that night, we sat in the van and prayed. We were praying to Jesus and St. Michael the archangel, for protection.

We should never do this, but at that particular time, I wasn’t aware that praying to angels, the saints, or Mary was considered necromancy and/or idolatry. As this is placing our faith in someone or something else, besides Jesus. And we should never pray to the dead.

When we attempt to call on Michael the archangel, A demonic spirit will respond, pretending to be Michael, because holy angels only respond if God chooses to send them. God gives angels charge over us.

The bible tells us:

Psalm 91:11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

I later found out that we should only call upon the name of the Lord, for protection. And another important thing I learned was; if we engage in occult practices, We are leaving God’s umbrella of protection. So even if we call on the name of the Lord while doing these occult practices (necromancy, divination, witchcraft, etc.,) we are still in harms way. God will not “bless a sin”, and He will not hear our prayers while we regard iniquity in our hearts.

After praying in the van, we went inside and began praying throughout the house, we put holy water over every door, and over all the windows. We set up our monitoring equipment out on the front porch and we placed several stationary IR cameras in the house. When we started the investigation, the young man (that suffered the violent attacks) left for a while, and come back later that evening. While he was gone, we did several “ séance sessions”, using dowsing rods. A few times, when we asked the spirits questions, the bedroom door of the room we were in, would open and then shut, and we were getting responses using our dowsing rods. But this was the only thing “paranormal” that happened at this point of the investigation. Later that night, the young man came back to the house, and we were talking to him and telling him what had occurred thus far. And he asked us, “ well, since the spirit seems to target me, maybe it will help if I go in with you?” We told him that it was up to him if he wanted to go in with us, but that if anything happened, we wouldn’t be liable. After all, he basically lived there, as he was best friends with the teen age girl that lived there. So, he went in with a few of us. We went into the bedroom again, and my daughter Krystal sat on the bed behind me as I was using a handheld camcorder. During this séance, I was filming another team member while he was asking questions, using the “dowsing rods”. During this “session”, the man was suddenly thrown into the wall, with great force! This was the first time I ever witnessed anything like this! Although I found out what these spirits could actually do, my obsession with the paranormal only got worse..

I had the footage of the incident on tape, and I was asked to speak at a few paranormal conventions for a few years and I would show the footage and discuss with others, the “dangers involved in paranormal research”. I would teach others how to conduct investigations safely, and I would also teach the public on how to communicate with spirits.

“The only safety in paranormal research is to not do it.”

You see, I was still being deceived by these spirits, as I still had not accepted the truth, that in fact, all these spirits were actually demons in disguise, mimicking the dead, and that my involvement in the paranormal was giving demonic spirits legal rights into my life, and the life of my family.

It was during this time, I really started questioning it, because the only real evidence we had, was how these spirits manifested, and what these spirits said to us, and what they claimed to be. We were merely taking their word for it. It had not come to my full knowledge of truth yet, that all these spirits lie about their true identity.

It’s very interesting to know how many ghost hunters truly rely on their own 5 senses, and trust what these spirits “tell them”, or how they “appear”. When coming to a conclusion in “paranormal cases”, the evidence that is always presented as “proof” of ghosts include things such as:

*EVP recordings (having to trust in what the spirits tell them)

*Photographs of paranormal anomalies (familiar spirits can “appear” as ghost)

*Temperature readings of the area during the investigation.

*EMF readings (again, this can be manipulated by demonic spirits)

*Video footage of paranormal activity.

*Information given through a medium or psychic. (Demonic spirits are known to do this, as even many in the paranormal/psychic community agree that occurrences such as “demons mimicking the dead” do happen at times, but many deny the possibility that this is perhaps always the case.)

All of the types of evidence above, are determined by using our natural senses. How do we know they are telling the truth? How do we know that when that ghostly apparition manifests to appear like “uncle Bob”, how do we know it isn’t truly a demon masquerading as uncle Bob? We already know that sometimes these demonic spirits will mimic a dead loved one, so why is it so hard to accept the fact that this may very well always be the case?

When we determine the presence of a “spirit”, we do not have the “natural” ability to distinguish whether the spirit is that of a deceased loved one, or if the spirit is truly demonic. We cannot go by our own senses or “feelings” according to scripture.

The Bible tells us:

Proverbs 14:12 KJV

[12] There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Jeremiah 17:9 KJV

[9] The heart is deceitful above all things , and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Proverbs 3:5 KJV

[5] Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Therefore, we must seek the truth in God’s Word.

Once I started realizing that perhaps this could indeed always be the case, I started really seeking the truth and started praying for God to show me the truth. I prayed for God to show me the true identity of these spirits.

Then I started experiencing a lot of negative paranormal activity in our home, which after some time, began to get severe. This was much different that our normal “hearing footsteps in the middle of the night”. The activity became very negative. It was as if the “spirit/s” became angry.

My husband began suffering physical attacks. My husband suffered a lot of these attacks. He dreamed of what appeared to be a beautiful woman with long red hair. One night, he told me about his dream, and how the woman tried to seduce him, and he said that the dream seemed very real to him. And a few nights after he told me about this, I was at a paranormal investigation, and while I was there, another one of my newest team members told me that her husband was having dreams about a woman with long red hair, and that she was trying to “seduce” him. I was shocked as she was telling me about this, but, I chose not to tell her that my husband was also dreaming about a woman with long red hair, as I felt this was something my husband would be sensitive about, and that perhaps he wouldn’t want me to tell anyone about it. When I got home, I immediately told him what she told me, and we both come to the conclusion that the same “spirit” that was coming to my husband at night in his dreams, was most likely the same spirit that was coming to my team members’ husband, in his dreams. I thought that perhaps, it was a case of “transference of a demonic spirit” from her, and now it was attached to my husband. Soon after we come to this conclusion, these “hauntings” became more severe, and physical. Another night, this spirit came to my husband again, but this time, it became violent, and attacked him… he got up and grabbed a rosary bead necklace and started rebuking this “spirit”, “ in the name of Jesus”. Suddenly, the necklace busted in mid air, and beads flew all over the room! But then it seemed to leave. After everything was settled down, he noticed that the “spirit” actually left bite marks, in his groin area! We had several other incidents after this one, and I came to believe that it was the same spirit that my friend was dealing with, or perhaps it was the demonic spirit that threw the man on my previous investigation, and that it followed me home, and possibly it “attached to my husband” and was now tormenting Him.

I started seeking ways to rid this spirit. I was getting desperate. I tried doing things that I heard from other people to do. I put bibles in every room of my house, I hung rosary bead necklaces over every door in our house and over windows, I put “anointing oil” over every door also, while praying for these spirits to leave in Jesus name. The activity would stop temporarily, but would soon return again, yet another night. I was seeking ways to stop it and to cleanse my house. I bought an audio book, called “The Invisible War”, by Chip Ingram. I let it play on my laptop, on a nightstand next to my bed. We fell asleep while it was playing. The audio book was approx. 8 hours long so it played most of the night. On this audio book, it has some “Deliverance prayers” on it. During the night, my husband suddenly felt the “presence” in our room. He could feel it get on our bed next to him. When this happened, the audiobook was saying a deliverance prayer. My husband was terrified as he could feel the presence next to him, and so he started following along in prayer, in agreement with the prayer that was playing on my laptop. Suddenly, when he started “saying the prayer”, our fan flew across the room and slammed into the wall! It woke me up, and my husband started shaking my shoulder, and said, “Dana, hurry, turn that off, whatever it is, it don’t like that”!! When I realized the audio that was playing was actually deliverance prayers, I started rebuking the spirit in the name of Jesus! The activity stopped that night. I began searching more on the internet about deliverance, I found a few deliverance ministers on blog talk radio. I listened to them talk about doing deliverances on people that had evil spirits and they would cast them out of people. But they also talked a lot about God’s Word and would read scriptures, so I heard a lot about what the bible said on the subject, that I never heard about before, in my years of “going to church”. I started looking at what the Bible said about demonic spirits and how to be delivered from them. I also found testimonies on YouTube of others that also were tormented by demonic spirits, and left the occult. I watched a video of Laura Maxwell’s testimony, which had a big impact on me. Laura explained how she lost her dear mom to suicide, after she suffered severe demonic attacks. It gave me a strong sense of urgency to find help.

The attacks were so bad, and then finally, we had an incident that was the “final straw”, it was when a demonic spirit actually manifested and appeared to my 4 year old grandson. He was in my room on my bed, watching tv, and I walked in my room to check on him and when I walked in, he was sitting on my bed, and he looked terrified and confused, staring at the foot of my bed, because he had seen something, and when I asked him what was wrong, he was trying to tell me he had seen something. He was having a hard time trying to explain to me what he actually saw, he just said, “I don’t know what it was, it was maybe a monster or something”.. then I relied, “there isn’t no such thing as monsters”, then I said, “ I don’t see no monster, where is the monster”? He looked so confused, and he jumped on the floor and rubbed his hand across the floor and said, ” I don’t know, it went in the floor or something”, and he kept looking around confused, as if he couldn’t figure out where it went to. Well, needless to say, that was when I had had ENOUGH, and could not take anymore! It was bad enough that these spirits were terrorizing us, but now they were targeting my grandson!! I became terrified, as I knew these spirits were also capable of physical attacks, and I couldn’t bear the thought of my grandson possibly getting attacked! After this incident with my grandson, I finally talked my husband into going to a local church for prayer and possibly deliverance. We went to a local church the following Sunday. After the church service was over, we went up to the assistant pastor, and asked for prayer. I told him that “my husband needed deliverance”. I explained to him that I was a “paranormal investigator”, and that I believed an evil spirit attached to my husband and was now tormenting him. He looked at me and told me, ” oh…you are going to have to stop doing what you are doing, you are in the occult and that’s most likely why these things are happening”. Although I was so obsessed with the paranormal, and I was totally unprepared to hear the minister say that, somehow I knew this to be true, deep down. At this point, I was far more desperate to help my family, and to stop the attacks we were going through. It was at that moment, I made the decision to repent and truly turn to Jesus and to live for Him, no matter what that meant. Even if it meant to give it all up. I was willing to do whatever I needed to do to save my family from these attacks. I knew deep down he was telling me the truth. He looked at my husband, and noticed he was wearing a rosary bead necklace. He asked my husband, “why are you wearing that”? My husband and I both explained that it was for “protection”, and the pastor told him, “please take that off”. We both were confused by this, as I thought this was a “Christian” thing to do, to wear a cross. I thought it was supposed to give us protection. My husband went ahead and took it off. The pastor then told him to just put it away, or put it in his pocket. My husband put it in his pocket. I then asked him why. Then the pastor explained, He said “you cannot put your faith into an object”. He said, “when you are putting your faith in an object, you are taking your faith off of Jesus… You must put ALL your faith in Jesus, and Jesus alone.”

As crazy as it may sound, I thought to myself, ” oh wow, can we really just trust Jesus, and Him alone, to free us, really??” Everything he was telling us, rang truth with me. He started praying for us. I came there, expecting that my husband would get delivered, but as he started praying for us, I started have strong feelings of fear and I felt an urgency to run out of the church. I had feelings of panic and I couldn’t figure out why I was having these feelings, because of how desperate I was to be there and to get us prayed for. But then it occurred to me that it was actually me that had an evil spirit all along, and that I needed to rebuke it in the name of Jesus, and to have faith in him alone to do it. I knew that I had to take a real leap of faith and just trust Jesus to free me. I prayed along with the pastor silently, and kept rebuking it and telling it to go, in Jesus’ name. I made up my mind to truly turn my back on the enemy and to turn to Jesus, in everything! It was a true submission to God. And finally, after a few minutes, the feelings of fear left me and suddenly I felt tremendous peace come over me! As if I had been dipped in warm oil, and my whole body became relaxed. I felt the presence of Jesus!! And from that moment on, my eyes were truly opened, and I could see all the deception for what it was! God truly opened my eyes. He removed the scales that the enemy had over my eyes. Suddenly, I just knew that all these “alleged ghosts, spirit guides, aliens, and so on, are actually demonic spirits that lie.

They lie to us for a reason. Their purpose is to keep people away from the truth in God’s word. The truth is, when we die, we either go to heaven or we go to hell. And if we have reason to believe that we remain earthbound after death, then we have no reason to fear the possibility of going to hell, and we won’t have the hope of our promise of going to heaven if we believe in Jesus.

God’s word tells us:

2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV

[8] We are confident, I say , and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Hebrews 9:27 KJV

[27] And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

What happens when we die, according to Gods Holy Word:

Luke 16:22-31 KJV

[22] And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; [23] And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. [24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. [25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. [26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. [27] Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: [28] For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. [29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. [30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. [31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

The scripture above, from Luke 16, is very clear. It tells us that immediately, when we die, we are either carried by angels to heaven, or we will lift up our eyes being in everlasting torment. It also tells us that there is a great gulf “fixed” in place, so that anyone in heaven or hell cannot leave.

And most importantly, this scripture tells us that God will not allow one to come back from the dead, even if it is to warn others. And if God were to have any exceptions to this rule, it would definitely be for the gospels sake, as there is not a more important message than the gospel.

Satan tries to keep us from getting saved. He wants to lead us astray, and to allure us into the paranormal, by using our dead loved ones to do it. This is an especially cruel tactic he uses, but, we can’t expect anything less from him. He is the father of lies, and he wants to take as many to hell with him as he can.

Now as a minister, after observing firsthand the amount of destruction that the enemy brings into peoples’ lives when they give him a foothold, I am even more convinced now than before that I made the right decision to close the door to the enemy by leaving the occult. ~ Dana

I repented of all my involvement in the occult, and got rid of all my paranormal research equipment and anything else I had that was related to the occult. I had alot of equipment, as I had my own paranormal investigation team.

Mark 8:36-37 KJV

[36] For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? [37] Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

ALL paranormal activity and attacks from that day forward, stopped! God truly delivered me that day. He physically healed me too! I had a large tumor in my breast, but I got prayed for, and the biopsy came back negative! And I give God all the glory, and I pray that my testimony will help lead others out of darkness and into the light of Christ!

It was truly a miracle that Jesus saved and delivered me that day!

Why We Should Not Initiate Communication with Angels, Including Michael

By Reverend Mark Hunnemann

I chose this title carefully because I could have entitled it: ”Why we should not communicate with angels”. However, I want to leave open the possibility that holy angels occasionally do initiate communication with humans today. All biblical theologians agree that overt angelic activity accelerates at crucial junctures in the flow of redemptive history (e.g. Announcement of Christ’s birth)As we’ll see, the word “initiate” is key in this discussion.   Furthermore, it would seem that disguised interaction with humans is a rather frequent angelic tactic (Hebrews 13:2), as well as their general call to be ministering spirits to us. (see Hebrews 1:14) So, please don’t think I am in any way minimizing the reality and frequency of their more covert role as our helpers/protectors, and occasional overt appearances. But, there is a big difference between that and OUR initiating contact with angels.

Every day I receive emails which advertize a book, services, ect. for how to communicate with an angel, or our guardian angel. I must confess that this is hot stuff. I mean, who would not be amazed and wowed by a visitation by an angel…especially if they had personal guidance for us? Pretty sensational, and we’re drawn toward that. I get it. But is this practice good, biblical and safe? No, on all three.

There is an explosion of books, and magazine articles dealing with this subject. In addition, in paranormal circles, some folks are attempting to reach angels. I know one man who will not try to reach the dead, but insists that he has been very successful in initiating communication with angels via traditional EVP methods. And he claims it’s biblical (more of that in a moment).

Moreover, in some churches there have been prophetic utterances that claim to be from an angel or a deceased preacher….or even Isaiah!  For the sake of time, we’ll focus on the claims for angelic utterances. The point is that popular culture, including the church, is getting inundated and fascinated with the angelic. And so, it is only appropriate that we ask: is it proper/biblical to initiate communication with angels? It’s sort of like an angelic form of EVP’s, which is precisely what one man I know claims is the voice he hears is. I have no idea how many EVP’s  are coming out these days that claim angelic authority, but my guess is that its growing in number. Satan is an opportunist. But whether the sought after angelic reply is audible or inaudible makes no difference—it is attempted communication with angels, and a possible reply.

So, the need is there for some clear guidance on this matter—one that takes into consideration all the salient data regarding angels. I may not answer some of the questions you may have regarding angels, but my focus is narrow: should we initiate communication with angels?

There are about 300 explicit references to angels in the bible…according to my concordance. Let us return to the man who claims that he not only gets EVP’s from angels, but that the bible warrants it. He cited verses like the angel talking to Mary, and the angels announcing the resurrection. But my point to him, which he seemed to have missed, was this: there is not a single case in the gospels or Acts where the Apostles (or even Jesus, as acting in His role as being the ideal Man) INITIATED communication with angel/s.

Nobody disputes that at crucial junctures of redemptive history angelic communication increased with God’s people. However, my point is simple—if Jesus and the apostles NEVER initiated communication with angels, then surely that is instructive. Authoritatively instructive because truth is communicated via Jesus’ actions, as well as His words—or lack of them in this case. Just because there is no explicit command not to initiate communication with angels, does not mean the bible is silent on the matter. Surely the life and practice of Jesus and His apostles is as authoritative in its instruction as explicit teaching. This is especially true when we see that the gospels and the book of Acts have numerous accounts of angelic visitation, but none were instigated by a person. It was always God Almighty sending His holy angels to do His bidding on behalf of His Bride. Always and everywhere in the bible, angels are the initiators in angelic/human encounters.

I could stop there and that should be sufficient to show that we have no business contacting angels. But let me add this. Why does God detest our using horoscopes? Because He created the planets and stars for us to enjoy, and to distinguish between night and day/seasons, etc. To look to the stars and planets, which are part of God’s creation, for advice, instead of looking to the Creator for guidance and wisdom (re: relationships, love, decisions, job, and so on) is idolatrous and grieves God.

The same with angels—they are creatures and should not be sought out to give us wisdom, protection, and guidance. Why look to an angel when we can talk to our Heavenly Father? Again, it is idolatrous. Or to put it another way, we have the Bible and the Holy Spirit within us to guide and direct us in the paths of righteousness. Is not talking to angels a slight on the Holy Spirit? The classic text in Proverbs 3:5-6 needs to soak into our hearts and minds, and realize that God is jealous that we not only not look to our own insights, but also not the insights of other finite, fallible creatures, like angels.

Let me ask a simple question: WHY do you even want to talk to angels? For guidance…or insight…protection..or an angels perspective on the spirit realm…or being honest, just because it’s cool and fun? Doing an ‘end-run’ around God to attain these goals is unacceptable, even idolatrous. Do you see the prophets, apostles or Jesus communicating with angels for this purpose? NO! Then it is forbidden to us as well.

Switching gears, attempted communication with angels may open you to demonic oppression, just as trying to converse with the dead will do the same. Demons excel at mimicry…including mimicking angels (2 Corinthians 11:14). Unlawful communication with spirits is forbidden, and exposes you to demonic oppression. If you do receive a reply, then I’m fairly confident it is NOT an angel. It may appear or sound like a holy angel, but its not. Having opened the door to the demonic, then you are communicating with the demonic. The reason why I keep saying that virtually all paranormal activity is demonic activity is because holy angels do not play EVP games, cause phantom footsteps, cause keys to disappear, etc. They are our servants  and delight in the supremacy of God’s glory.

Since this man (or anyone) is actually speaking to demon/s when he thinks he’s conversing with an angel, then there will be consequences. Though sincere, he is sincerely wrong…and traffic with demons will burn all those involved, and sadly there is often collateral damage as well. The children will start getting influenced.

Those who attempt to speak to human spirits or angels tend to become addicted to this endeavor. This is well documented, and the recent case of Steve Huff is a high profile case of a phenomenon that is very widespread…and ruining individuals and families.

It is safe to say that angels don’t want us talking with them because they are loathe to draw attention to themselves. In every way possible, they will seek that all the glory goes to God.

The man who actively seeks angelic EVP’s  says that this angel actually talks about the gospel and evangelizing the lost. Could and would a demon do that, he asks? The answer is: absolutely yes! Satan, and his angels, went to the best Seminary in the universe (heaven) and  were taught by God Himself. Hence, though demons may inspire a message that is entirely true, the identity of the messenger (the alleged angel) is a LIE. Let that sink in….the message is true, but the messenger is a LIE.

For example, by giving an evangelical and sound answer, the alleged angel ensnares the undiscerning and advances the kingdom of darkness by spreading the lie that one can communicate with angels. It’s the same MO he uses with communicating with allegedly deceased humans.

Demons, either by appearing as angels or deceased humans, can persuade the non-discerning simply by quoting the bible accurately. If he can make strategic advances in his kingdom, Satan will preach truth all day, but there is always a catch. And eventually, some imbalance will begin to appear in the teaching.

Some folks think that if they attend a church where the bible is preached, and the Holy Spirit is moving powerfully, then they are safe from demonic counterfeit or attack. Not so. Genuine spiritual revival—whether localized or large-scale revival—gets Satan’s attention and becomes his target to sow seeds of counterfeit revival. This was studied by Jonathan Edwards during the great revivals he and John Wesley was very instrumental in. One example of such a counterfeit sign might be angels of light visiting a vibrant church and persuading people via a ‘prophetic utterance’ to focus so hard on ministry busyness, that they lose their fervor for prayer. The ‘angel’ wants them to get so busy, they lose their first love and become prayer-less in their busyness, and spiritually powerless. Busyness is not the same as bearing Holy Spirit fruit—starting with the fruit of the Spirit.

When you read the book of Colossians, we can see that there was the same fascination with angels then, as there is today in the West. It is simply another reflection of the ascendancy of the occult worldview which is taking over our culture, and is despoiling many Christians’ views of the proper role of angels.

Hebrews 1:14 is the classic text of the angels job description.

Hebrews 1:13-14 KJV

[13] But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? [14] Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

In addition, we remember 2 Cor. 11:14 of the “Angel of Light”

2 Corinthians 11:14 KJV

[14] And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Over-familiarity with angels is something that has been brought to my attention as well. With few exceptions, when humans had an encounter with a holy angel, they were terrified, and were tempted to bow down to them, which was abhorrent to the angels. However, it is instructive that the casualness that seems to accompany some of these alleged angel discussions, is in itself a red-flag.

Let me add the very common practice of reciting the prayer to Michael, the archangel. I know more than one person who seems to claim a special ministry partnership with Michael. That is a distinct issue, but let me strongly caution anyone who thinks that they are attended by Michael on a regular basis. He can only be at one place at a time, and frankly, why do WE think that he overlooks billions of other people just to be our ministry companion? He is the protector of God’s people in both Testaments.

If you’re explicitly relying on angelic help and communication in deliverance ministry,  Beware! You may end up needing deliverance yourself. Sometimes folks use ‘angelic’ help to heal people. In the NT we don’t see apostles consciously working alongside angels in ministry. Of course angels were present, but the apostles didn’t saddle up to them as partners…tapping into their powers. They relied on the Holy Spirit.

Here is the prayer said by countless investigators, as well as folks in general, seeking protection.

Michael the Archangel Prayer

“Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”

In essence, we need to treat this petition to the archangel just like we did above regarding angelic communication in general. As is readily apparent, this ‘prayer’ is TAKING THE INITIATIVE TO CONTACT AN ARCH-ANGEL, MICHAEL.

Do we have any instances in the gospels or Acts in which the Lord Jesus or the apostles called on Michael to aid them in spiritual warfare? Is there any teaching in the epistles regarding how/why we should pray to Michael for assistance? A thousand times, NO! We’ve already noted that the church NEVER initiated communication with any angels. So, why do we think that WE should pray to an angel, when the early church did not? Do we know something Jesus didn’t? God forbid!

In addition, Ephesians 6 is the most comprehensive teaching on spiritual warfare in the bible. What does it say? Be strong IN THE LORD, and put on His full armor. No mention of praying to Michael. In Colossians, we are warned against anything that smacks of angel worship, and PRAYING to a creature like Michael is a form of worship…in this case, idolatry. You don’t commit idolatry, even sincerely, without consequences.

Colossians 2:18 KJV

[18] Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Michael is a mighty warrior and worthy of respect, but he is not a saint. Gloriously, all genuine Christians are saints!

Don’t get me wrong: angels in general, and Michael in particular, are actively involved in spiritual warfare (Daniel 10:13). However, the Lord Jesus is the General of the Heavenly Hosts…not Michael. And for reasons already stated, we must not pray to him. God in His sovereign wisdom will dispatch His angels according to His will.

Why do we even want to pray to Michael, when he is but a finite creature, whom we shall judge and rule over for all eternity? He is more in awe of us then we are of him, and is part of the heavenly spectators of us as God’s image bearers, and those in union with Christ,  and he standing on tippy toe to see how God’s kingdom is advancing through US today!

On the other hand, I do get it. If I was on a case, it would be comforting to know that Michael himself was there. However, it is infinitely more comforting to know that I have the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit…and by virtue of my union with Christ, I have HIS authority over demons.

So, why do so many people pray to him? First, it has become common to do so in the paranormal community. But we take our clues from God’s Word, and not any practice that has become commonplace. Many wrong things/beliefs have been practiced by large segments of society, but our conscience is bound only by the bible. If you are a Christian, your primary identity is not a paranormal investigator, but part of the Body of Christ…and our allegiance is to Him, and not to a group. Following the crowd is not the way of a believer.

Another reason I’ve seen is that somebody we deeply admire prays this prayer. But once again, God’s Word is our guide, and not fallible humans, no matter how godly and ‘successful’.

For Roman Catholics, this is an ‘official prayer’, sanctioned by the church. For them, there are 2 strands of equal authority: the Word of God, and tradition…especially tradition sanctioned by papal ex cathedra decree or by ecumenical counsels. (eg Trent) But I see no evidence that this prayer has been officially sanctioned as ‘infallible tradition.

I say this gently but firmly, we must stop this praying to Michael; He is NOT a saint because he has not been saved by Christ and brought into union with Him. WE are the saints, and we should stop this practice of praying to an angel.

I cannot speak with absolute certainty regarding the consequences of praying this prayer, because I am not God. And many powerful things have been accomplished in and through folks who pray this prayer, but it is spite of this prayer and not because of it. It is tragic to consider, but if praying to angels opens doors to the demonic, then this prayer to Michael for protection may actually do the opposite. It may cause us to come under even more severe attack. It is supremely ironic, that a prayer meant to seek protection, may give the devil an opportunity (topos). I’m sure God is merciful and often works through us despite our severe shortcomings, but that is no reason to continue a practice that is manifestly odious to God’s Word. The phrase “better safe than sorry” comes to mind if you have any doubt at this point. The stakes for all involved are way too high, just to continue praying to an archangel because it’s so common. Do we really think that Michael, who is supremely zealous for God’s glory, would be happy with us worshipping him via prayer? I think not.

I’ve already strayed, so let me re-state my basic premise: from Genesis to Revelation (especially the NT), when there is angelic encounters, they are NEVER initiated by man. GOD initiates the encounters with his holy and heavenly messengers. God said it, That settles it. I believe it. Amen.

PS. If this offends you, then please list biblical texts to support your case…thank you.

Angelic Communications, Is it Biblical?

In the above video, (Link above ^^^^^^) Laura Maxwell and Mark Hunnemann discuss the topic of this growing trend we see today in the paranormal community and abroad. We even see it within the Catholic Church. The “initiation” of angelic communication.. but, is it biblical? They also discuss the dangers involved in this practice, including demonic oppression, or even worse, possession.

12 Points Regarding the True Identity of Ghosts by Rev, Mark A. Hunnemann

12 Points Regarding the True Identity of Ghosts

by Rev, Mark A. Hunnemann

In the last decade or so, the belief in ghosts has exploded; changing the spiritual landscape of America. Polls indicate that what was once a fringe belief is now embraced by at least one-third of those in the US–65% of young adults.

In addition to its prevalence, there are titanic issues at stake surrounding the question of their existence. My own passionate desire to get at a definitive answer to whether ghosts exist resulted in publishing Seeing Ghosts Through God’s Eyes–which is a comprehensive analysis of this juggernaut from a biblical worldview perspective.

Because of space constraints, I will state my thesis and then briefly give evidence to support it.One more preliminary point–this is NOT some ivory tower debating point…it is immensely practical and serious. Every day scores of dear people are becoming demon oppressed due to curiosity or confusion re this issue.

What we call ghosts are said to be the trapped souls of deceased human beings. We all have an ultimate authority we appeal to in order to answer life’s most basic questions–this authority is unconscious for most people. Two intellectual starting points: we can either answer this question via speculation or revelation…our autonomous reason or Gods word.

God’s word is emphatic that ghosts don’t exist. What we perceive as ghosts (apparitions, EVP’s, smells, shadow figures, and so on) are really demons mimicking deceased humans in order to deceive us.

1. Deut.18:9-14 God commands us in the strongest language to not attempt to speak to the dead…this occultic practice was popular in Canaan. As with idolatry the reason for the prohibition on spiritism was the demonic reality behind it All other passages in the bible re spirits are to be interpreted through this primary text (basic hermeneutics)…..

2. In 2 Cor. 11:14 we are warned that “Satan can appear as an angel of light” in order to deceive us.If the devil can appear convincingly in a form antithetical to his true identity as the prince of darkness, then he–and by extension his demons–can easily appear as an apparition of a little girl crying, an elderly lady dressed in white, Uncle Charlie, a spirit guide, and so on. In agreement with above text, most judicious paranormal investigators acknowledge that demons can mimick and morph into anything they so desire…anything. If that is the case, then how can we ever be certain that a paranormal phenomena is not demonic…..we CAN’T!

3. From personal experience as a demonologist and exorcist, EVERY alleged ghostly entity has revealed it’s true identity when biblically challenged.

4. Heb.9:27 (and many other passages) state that death is determinative of eternal destiny; that is, upon death our souls go to heaven or hell. For the honest seeker, there is good academic evidence supporting the authority of the bible as God’s word.

5. When Jesus died on the cross, He defeated Satan, death, and the grave…he holds the keys to death and the grave (Heb 2:14-15; Rev. 1:18) That a traumatic death could trap an unsuspecting soul is contrary to every doctrine of the bible.

6. For 3,500 years the historic Judeo-Christian faith has taught that ghosts were demons, but as New Age beliefs displace Christianity, the belief in ghosts has soared–both inside and outside he church.

7. Having studied the data carefully, the entities we call ghosts lack certain aspects integral to true humanness.

8. Ghost hunters claim that they use the scientific method. Yet the vast majority of traumatic deaths do not result in a haunting. If a theory (traumatic death can lead to soul being trapped) does not hold true in the vast majority of cases, then something is amiss re the theory…it certainly cannot be claimed to be based on science.

9.  Jesus created the world and sustains it moment by moment (Col.1:16-17) When He walked on earth 2,000 years ago demon possessed people came to Him in great numbers…the demons recognized who He was. Ghosts and demons are said to occupy the same dimension. Then, why do we NEVER see Jesus ministering to ghosts, who seem to be far from perfect….Also, why did ghosts not seek Him out to help them as demoniacs did….If they did exist, then we would rightly expect Him to help these allegedly poor trapped souls. The simplest and best answer is that He did not minister to ghosts because they don’t exist, otherwise He would be guilty of overlooking an integral part of His creation.A re those who seek to assist ghosts in crossing over more knowledgable and more compassionate than He who created the world and is perfect love…To ask the question is to answer it.

10. Lastly, (there are many more), if ghost are real ,then why do they not show the same character and personality as when alive…We are allegedly surrounded by ghosts, which means there should be a good cross-section of America represented. With many thousands of hours of EVP’s caught on tape, there are no EVP’s which sing of the glories of Jesus Christ….they are on the front door to eternity, and yet they are mute about AMAZING GRACE…demons hate grace.

11. What we call the paranormal realm is the place God has sovereignty decreed to be the temporary home of Satan and demons. Hence, we are unwittingly “playing in Satan’s sandbox”.This is unspeakably horrible and dangerous.

12. Any attempts to communicate with the dead are as dangerous as playing with a Ouija board..The commonality is an invitation for residents of spirit realm (which is Satan’s abode) to speak or make their presence known. That gives a foothold to demonic…

Séance, The Conjuration of Demonic Spirits

What is a Séance?

According to Wikipedia:

A séance or seance (/ˈs.ɑːns/) is an attempt to communicate with spirits. The word “séance” comes from the French word for “session”, from the Old French seoir, “to sit”. In French, the word’s meaning is quite general: one may, for example, speak of “une séance de cinéma” (“a movie session”). In English, however, the word came to be used specifically for a meeting of people who are gathered to receive messages from ghosts or to listen to a spirit medium discourse with or relay messages from spirits. In modern English usage, participants need not be seated while engaged in a séance.

Necromancy/ the conjuration of the spirits of the dead…

The dead

a combining form meaning “divination,” of the kind specified by the initial element: necromancy.

Evocation/ is the act of calling upon or summoning a spirit, demon, deity or other supernatural agent, in the Western mystery tradition. Comparable practices exist in many religions and magical traditions and may employ the use of mind-altering substances with and without uttered word formulas.

*It’s interesting to know that in commercialized grimoires book of magic spells and invocations it says that evocation includes elements of ‘diabolism‘ and one (The Grand Grimoire) even offers a method for making a pact with the devil, in general the art of evocation of spirits is said to be done entirely under the power of the divine. The magician is thought to gain authority among the spirits only by purity, worship and personal devotion and study.

The Rise of Spiritualism and Spirit Communication (according to common folklore, history, and beliefs)

The Fox sisters

According to common folklore and belief, Leah, Margaretta, and Catherine Fox, from New York, played an important role in the “creation” of spiritualism, as we know it today. The two younger sisters convinced the older sister and others that they were communicating via seance’, with spirits, via “rappings”. They were considered popular and successful “mediums” for many years.

In 1888, one of the sisters, Margaretta, confessed that their “rappings” had been a hoax and she publicly demonstrated their method. She later attempted to recant her confession, but by that time, their reputation was ruined. In less than 5 years, all three sisters were dead.

Despite their confession, the spiritualism movement continued to grow in popularity.

(According to Wikipedia, Fox sisters)

When I think of the word “séance”, It makes me think of times when I was a paranormal investigator, and our investigation team would sit around a table, in a dark room, with candles lit, and everyone holding hands, singing songs to attract/appease the spirits, and once contact was made with the spirits, we would ask the spirits questions, while we all eagerly awaited responses, which would come by way of a simple knock, or a tap on the table, or in some cases, the table would actually levitate and rock back and forth on its own.

*It “appeared” to be on its own, but later I found that in reality, it was a demonic force that was responding and moving the table.

Different types of Séance:

Religious Séance:

In the religion of Spiritualism, and the religion of Divine Metaphysics (a federally recognized religious branch out of Spiritualism in the United States), it is generally a part of services to communicate with living personalities in the spirit world. Usually, this is only called “séance” by outsiders; the preferred term for Spiritualists is “receiving messages”. In these sessions, which generally take place in well-lit Spiritualist churches or outdoors at Spiritualist camps (such as Lily Dale in upstate New Yorkor Camp Cassadaga in Florida), an ordained minister or gifted contact medium will relate messages from spirit personalities to those here in the physical form.[4] Generally Spiritualist “message services” or “demonstrations of the continuity of life” are open to the public. Sometimes the medium stands to receive messages and only the sitter is seated;[6] in some churches, the message service is preceded by a “healing service” involving some form of faith healing.

Stage Séance For large crowds:

These types of Séances are very common today as there have been many examples of it shown on TV. Shows. Shows such as “Long Island Medium”, Tyler the Hollywood Medium”, and many others have made spirit communication very appealing to the public. These are usually done with the Psychic/medium giving and receiving messages from spirits posing as dead loved ones, to the audience members. Just as with any other “supernatural” types of performances, there are always some cases where fraud and trickery are involved. But nonetheless, there are cases where these “psychics” truly relayed very detailed massages that only the person and the “alleged” spirit would have known. The true question would be, “what kind of spirit is actually giving these messages?” A trapped human spirit, an angel, or a demonic spirit?

Seance’ in modern society today

Among this new generation of spiritualists and those that are simply fascinated with the concept of earthbound/trapped spirits, there are many types of Séances happening around the world today. With an explosion of interest in the occult and paranormal, there has risen a tradition of conducting séances outside of any religious context and without a leader. Many seance sessions are with only 2-3 participants.

Paranormal reality TV shows are also at an all time high. One quick search on our local TV guide came up with several shows related to the paranormal and ghost hunting. Here are some…

*To know the heart of society, look at its entertainment.

Many people are wondering what makes viewers believe, or disbelieve what they see on the TV screen. The popular paranormal shows are not only featuring “ghost stories”, but they are using fancy para-tools to collect evidence of “ghosts”, and calling it “science”. Even many skeptics are tuning in.

All it takes is a group of paranormal enthusiasts waving around cool looking tools that beep and suddenly people believe in ghosts and haunted houses.

Today it is more common to see groups of only a few people participating in Séances, attempting to copycat what they have seen on the latest “Ghost Adventures” episodes, using the latest evp recording devices, or “ghost boxes”, to record the voices of alleged earthbound spirits, only to compare gathered evidence with other paranormalists and hoping to get the “holy grail” of all evidence, to prove life after death, and that “ghosts” do exist.

Then there are those that are sensationalists, or paranormal daredevils that may be participating in Séances as a way to test their understanding of the boundaries between reality and the paranormal. These séance participants are often known to use ouija boards, dowsing rods, etc., often along with attempts of provoking spirits into performing, usually via religious provocations, verbal threats, etc., just to get that sought after evidence of spirit manifestation and materialization.

*Please note that ALL spirit communication is dangerous. It is a common misconception that Séances where the participants are using an ouija board is more dangerous than those that simply use a digital recording device. The truth is, ALL spirit communication is an open invitation to the demonic.

My late friend Joe, conducting a séance session using dowsing rods, with a few other team members.

But one must take into consideration what the Bible says about life after death, and the possibility of “trapped spirits”. Because if they are not truly the trapped earthbound spirits of our departed loved ones, what are they?

Earliest known instances of Séance recorded in history:

While many believe that “Spiritualism” and Séances began around the 1700-1800s with the Fox sisters, or even the wife of President Abraham Lincoln, it is important to know that Séances goes back to the days when the Old Testament of the Holy Bible was written.

We see the first known recorded seance in scripture, with the story of Samuel and Saul. There were mediums, necromancy, divination, and Séances in those days. The Bible tells us that there is nothing new under the sun. The enemy uses the same tactics today that he used in the days before Christ came and walked the earth as a man. In those days, there were people that believed in “ghosts”. (Earthbound Spirits)

The medium calls up the “familiar spirit” that masquerades as the departed spirit of Samuel.

1 Samuel 28:7-15 KJV
[7] Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor. [8] And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee. [9] And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those tthat have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die? [10] And Saul sware to her by the Lord , saying, As the Lord liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing. [11] Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel. [12] And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul. [13] And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. [14] And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself. [15] And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.

Familiar Spirit, or the Departed Spirit of Samuel?

Amoung many other controversial topics in the Bible, the incident that took place in 1 Samuel is one of the most controversial, especially within the “paranormal community”. Many scholars have debated on this issue, as to whether Samuel himself was actually called up by the medium, or if it was a “familiar spirit”, masquarading as the departed spirit of Samuel. In order for us to know the truth, we must look at scripture and divide the word rightly. After dividing the word rightly, and carefully looking at this incident, as it is written, and comparing it with the whole counsel of the Bible, I, and many others, have come to the conclusion that this was actually a familiar spirit, masquaradeing as the departed spirit of Samuel.

This is what led me to this conclusion:

1. Verse 14 says: And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground..

*When we look at the word “perceive”, it means:

Perceive: “to identify by means of our senses.”

The word “perceive” does not necessarily mean the perception was correct. It only means that the perception was based on the information gathered. Things can be perceived correctly, but they can also be falsely perceived.

2. Verse 13-14 ..what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. [14] And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle.

*The medium seen “gods” ascending out of the earth..

I find it interesting that she seen “what appeared to be Samuel”, amoung “false gods”, ascending out of the earth. This tells me it was a familiar spirit (demonic spirit) as it also ascended out of the earth with the other demonic spirits (false gods).

3. Verse 7 “Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit”..

*This point is very important, as it is actually the very answer to our question, right under our nose. If it had been a snake it would have jumped up and bit me!

4, By Dividing the word rightly, with the rest of the Bible:

1 Chronicles 10:13-14 KJV
[13] So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord , even against the word of the Lord , which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it ; [14] And enquired not of the Lord : therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.

*Saul was actually enquiring of the familiar spirit, not Samuel himself.

5. In Luke 16:19-31, The story of the rich man, and Lazerus, the beggar makes a few things clear, which show the impossibility that Samuel himself could have possibly came back from heaven to talk to Saul. It shows that when saved people die, they are immediately carried to heaven by an angel, and the wicked lift thier eyes up, being in torment, in hell. It also says that there is a great gulf “fixed”, which makes it impossible for someone to leave heaven or hell to talk to the living. Abraham also told the rich man that if the unsaved will not believe Moses and the prophets, they will not believe, though one come back from the dead. So, if God will not allow a departed spirit to “come back” from heaven or hell, for the gospels sake, He will not allow them to come back for any other reason. As the gospel is the most important message anyone could give someone else!

The Bible also tells us….

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 KJV
[10] There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, [11] Or a charmer, or a CONSULTER WITH FAMILIAR SPIRITS, or a wizard, or a NECROMANCER. [12] For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord : and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

There are reasons that the Bible forbids communication with spirits

The Bible tells us that Satan masquerades as an angel of light.

Isaiah 8:19 KJV

[19] And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

*God wants us to inquire of HIM, not familiar spirits.

These spirits do not speak according to Gods Word

1.Because they pretend to be earthbound spirits, when the Bible teaches that people either go straight to heaven or to hell when they die.

2.These spirits are also known to say that they “cannot go to the light”, but that they need the “paranormal investigator” to assist them into the light. This would suggest “Post mortem salvation” (Salvation after death) which is contrary to what the Bible teachs.

*Please see my article on “Post-mordem Salvation” (Salvation after death) for further proof that this is contrary to what the Bible teaches.

3.These spirits are known to say there is no real, literal hell.

Dangers involved with Spirit Communications

Demonic spirits masquerade as trapped earthbound spirits of our departed loved ones. Even most paranormal investigators will admit that demons are capable of “mimicking” the dead, and that often times they do.

(AKA; The “little girl ghost lie”)

While some believe that “mimicking” is “sometimes” the case…

The truth is… when paranormal activity is present, it is ALWAYS demonic spirits involved.

*Even holy angels do not “haunt” us.

Satan is the father of lies, and his minions are liars as well. During these Séances, they will give good, and accurate information, in which usually persuades people that, not only is the information true, but that they are indeed whom they say they are. THIS IS A GREAT DECEPTION.

What would be their motive? As long as we allow and consent to them being in our lives, they will have access to us.

These spirits are here to STEAL, KILL, AND DESTROY.

Once we allow them into our lives, they will eventually cause much havoc in our homes. Sometimes this takes days, months, or even years, before their true identities become known.

There are known cases where mediums that have used their “ability” to receive messages from these “spirits”, have later become unable to control such messages from coming through, in instances where the spirits literally took over the medium at unsuspecting times, and even tried to harm or kill them.

Laura Maxwell’s mum, Rita Peffer

One case in particular, a psychic medium, named Rita Peffer, (Mother of Laura Maxwell, Ex-Spiritist), would have episodes where the spirits that she often communicated with, suddenly turned on her, showing their true negative identity. The same Spirits that she once knew to be the kind spirits of dead loved ones that she spoke to often. They changed. Suddenly, she would go into trances, against her will, at unsuspecting times, and she would hear the voices of these spirits yelling at her and saying very negative and hostile obscenities toward her. She would be walking down the street and a spirit would take over her abruptly, and give passerbys messages, and then the spirit/s would try to throw her in oncoming traffic to get hit by moving vehicles! Also, once she was in her kitchen and then suddenly she went into a trance (against her will) with later waking up to finding the kitchen on fire. The spirits were trying to kill her. Tragically, Laura’s sweet mum later took her own life after having gone through such demonic torment. Please see the full testimony of Laura Maxwell. Laura leads a very successful ministry, called “Our Spiritual Quest”, warning people of the dangers and deceptions surrounding spiritualism, the new age, and the occult and she shares the truth of Jesus Christ.

How demonic spirits work

Just as with any other sin, the enemy will try to “tempt us”. They will try to “lure” us into occult practices. (necromancy, divination, consulting with familiar spirits, idolatry, etc.)

Usually, soon after someone dies, a familiar spirit will attempt to make “contact” with us. They will try to make thier presence known. These attempts can range from the sound of footsteps, or things being moved on it’s own, disembodied voices, physical manifestations that can be seen, such as the form of dark shadow figures, orbs, or full bodied apparitions, trying to mimic a deceased person that is familiar to us or a particular place. It could also be strong smells of things that you would associate with a particular person, such as cigarette/cigar smoke, or perfume.

The problem comes in when people do not “test the spirits”. Could this spirit truly be an “earthbound spirit”? Is this concept in line with scripture?

What to do if you or someone you know suffers from a haunting

When these spirits attempt to contact you, or make thier presence known, you need to rebuke it in Jesus name! When this is done, these spirits always flee! This is proof that they are not whom they say they are.

After the spirit flees, as described above, if it returns, you must evaluate the situation. Usually, when there is any type of “haunting”, the familiar spirit has some kind of “legal right” to be there. Something must be contributing to an open door to the demonic. Is it possible that you or a family member may need deliverance? If you’ve had deliverance, are you, or someone in your household involved with any habitual sin or occult practices?

If you or someone you know suffer from demonic attack, please contact me. If for some reason, I am unable to help, I can help you connect with another deliverance minister who may live in your area, or can help you via Skype.
